My History
Griselle Garcia has over 20 years of litigating experience, and since 2010 has exclusively focused on immigration law.
Griselle grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and Caracas, Venezuela. This multicultural exposure early on in life forged the love to her Latino heritage and customs. It also taught her and made her identify with the necessity of migration between territories and countries, people seeking a better life and safe haven for the individual and the family.
Griselle graduated with a Bachelor in Science (with honors) from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus, and later went on to finish her Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. After being admitted to the Puerto Rico Bar, Griselle worked as an associate attorney with a boutique insurance law firm. While there, her practice focused on court litigation, defending various insurance companies in tort, contract and insurance law claims during which time she gained vast litigation, negotiation, and transactional experience.
After relocating to Virginia with her family, she joined an immigration firm in Richmond, VA, where she had the opportunity to put all of the knowledge, negotiation, transaction, and litigation skills she gained as a civil trial attorney, for the benefit of all her immigration clients.
Griselle has appeared before the Puerto Rico’s Superior Court, Appellate Court and Supreme Court, as well as the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and various offices related to the USCIS, USICE and DHS.
Griselle is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), American Bar Association (ABA), Hispanic Bar Association of Virginia (HBAVA), and Mensa. She also gives volunteer time to the Spanish Information Network of Virginia (SINOVA). In her free time, she enjoys playing golf with her family and spending time with her family and two “rescue” furbabies / ++dogs, Fluffy and Leia.-
